Macro Machines

or, I am a Bot. Beep Beep Beep.

NOTE: As a convention, "Rank X" should be replaced by your highest level rank spell.

General Macros

Use Trinket by slot

If you are constantly switching trinkets based on situation, you may want to bind a key to your hotbar that uses a specific trinket slot, regardless of whatever's in there.

For the top trinket:

/use 13

For the bottom trinket:

/use 14

Do two actions with one button press (kinda)

Though the big BC macro lockdown stops you from being able to automate actions, you can actually do some of the old "fallthrough" macros PROVIDED that the first action you want to do has no Global Cooldown. You can look this information up on thottbot, generally.

Example: Sap and Pickpocket- Both Sap and Pickpocket have 0 GCD, as verified on thottbot, so you can macro them together to sap and pickpocket a mob in one button press. Granted, I could have done this in either order, but then the mob would have two chances to resist and a greater chance to break my stealth. With this macro, they only have the chance to resist my sap.

/cast Sap

/stopcasting

/cast Pick Pocket

Use a focus to save a target that can later be acted upon without re-targetting

OK, that was really long and confusing, but basically a focus is basically like a target variable, that you can have a macro act upon without actually changing your current target. This is great for rogues who will lose CP by changing targets. Here is a sample pair of macros that will set your focus when you first sap a target, and then a second macro that can be used to blind that target again without changing your current target. If your focus is already dead, or for some reason is set to someone that is not a valid attackable target, then it will give you a glowy finger targetting system that lets you blind someone by clicking them, but keeps your current target.

#showtooltip Sap

/cast Sap

/focus

#showtooltip Blind

/cast [target=focus,exists,nodead,harm] Blind; [target=none] Blind

Class-Specific Macros

Druid

Tsukikaji's Moonfire Macro

/say Moonfire! Moonfire! You cannot escape the Moonfire!

/cast Moonfire

Moonfire Spam macro

Updated spam macro. Hits with your highest Moonfire and then spams your next highest for the duration of the debuff (note, if your target resists your first moonfire, you're kinda fucked).

/castsequence reset=18 Moonfire, Moonfire (Rank 9), Moonfire (Rank 9), Moonfire (Rank 9)

NS/HT Macro

As in the aforementioned pickpocket macro, Nature's Swiftness has a 0GCD, so can be macro'd directly with other nature spells with long cast times, such as Healing Touch and Entangling Roots. For example:

/cast Nature's Swiftness

/stopcasting

/cast Healing Touch

Hunter

Mage

Priest

Rogue

Dismount Stealth spammable macro

I think this type of macro is probably useful for other classes too. It lets me spam a button that will dismount me, and if i'm not mounted, stealth me. If I'm still in combat, it will even vanish me. NOTE: According to the 2.1 patch notes, casting actions while mounted may unmount you, so you might need to add a "nomounted" conditional to make these all work right. (The "#show" line makes sure that I always see the vanish icon, so I know how much time is left on the cooldown)

#showtooltip Vanish

/cast [nocombat] Stealth

/cast [combat] Vanish

/cast [mounted] Blue Skeletal Horse

/cast [mounted] Blue Windrider

Sap and Pickpocket

/cast Sap

/stopcasting

/cast Pick Pocket

Pick Pocket and Ambush (or Cheap Shot... or Garrotte)

/cast Pick Pocket

/stopcasting

/cast Ambush

Shaman

Warlock

One-button Seduce Macro

OK... this macro is seriously sexy. I almost wanted to roll a lock just so I could use this macro. Basically the first time you click this macro and have a hostile target, your succy will go seduce him. Using something like Chronometer, you can monitor when it's about to break, and press it again right after it breaks to reseduce him... without changing your current target. It's pretty much one-button awesomeness. Hold "alt" and click the button to select a new target.

#showtooltip Seduction

/clearfocus [modifier:alt]

/focus [target=focus,noexists]; [target=focus,dead]

/clearfocus [target=focus,help]

/petstay

/petfollow

/cast [pet:succubus,target=focus,exists,harm] Seduction; Seduction

Warrior
